Common Side Effects is an American animated series created by Joseph Bennett and Steve Hely that aired on Adult Swim since February 2, 2025. Produced by Bandera Entertainment, Green Street Pictures, Tell Me More, and Williams Street, the series is about two former high school lab partners stumbling on a mushroom that can heal almost anything. The series was renewed for a second season on March 28, 2025.
An encore run of the series began airing on the Toonami block from March 1, 2025 to May 3, 2025.
Plot[]
The show centers around two high school friends, Marshall Cuso and Frances Applewhite, discovering the Blue Angel Mushroom, a mushroom with healing effects that appears to cure all illnesses.

Common Side Effects premiered on February 2, 2025 with new episodes airing Sundays at 11:30pm on Adult Swim and next day streaming on HBO Max. The first season of CSE finished its Adult Swim run on March 30, 2025 and reruns are currently airing on the regular Adult Swim block. A second season was announced on March 28, 2025. Common Side Effects made its Toonami debut on March 1, 2025 and concluded its run there on May 3, 2025.
