FLCL: Shoegaze is a Japanese anime series directed by Yutaka Uemura, animated by Production I.G. and Studio NUT, and co-produced by Adult Swim, Production I.G. and Studio NUT. It is a sequel to the original FLCL and the fifth installment in the series overall. It is also the final FLCL series to be co-produced by Adult Swim as the company has made it clear that they will not be making anymore despite the fact that they consider the sequel series to have been a success from a ratings perspective.[3]
The series premiered on Adult Swim's Toonami programming block from September 30, 2023 to October 14, 2023 at 12:00 AM.[1]

In the United States, FLCL: Shoegaze premiered on Adult Swim's Toonami block from Saturday, September 30, 2023 to October 14, 2023.[1] New episodes were also available to stream the day after their premiere on MAX.
Toonami Broadcast History[]
The series premiered on Adult Swim's Toonami block on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Midnight, replacing FLCL: Grunge in the lineup.[1] The series completed its Toonami run when the series finale aired on October 14, 2023. However, on October 28th, there was a 1.5 hour FLCL: Shoegaze Marathon which saw the entire series air from 12:00-1:30 AM.[2] The series was subsequently removed from the lineup.
