Lockdown was a Macromedia Shockwave Toonami game that was available to play on cartoonnetwork.com beginning on September 17, 2001. The game was created to coincide with the Lockdown Total Immersion Event. One level of the game was made available to play each day, from September 17-21, 2001.[1] The game is no longer available at cartoonnetwork.com, but has been archived by fans.

Out of all of the Total Immersion Event (T.I.E.) games, Lockdown had the largest connection between the television shorts and each online game level. Described as a "top-down role playing game,"[2] it is the longest and most sophisticated of the Toonami T.I.E games.

There were four levels total, with a new level revealed each day, along with three new codes given during the Toonami broadcast. These codes could be entered by the player to receive better power-ups and better scores. One Nintendo Bonus Password was also available each day when the player used the "Recruit a Friend" option on Toonami.com. These passwords gave the player's team (Red, Green, Blue) bonus points and improved the team's stats for that day.[1]

In order to play the game, during the event, the player had to register their DOK on Toonami.com and be assigned to one of the three teams: Red, Blue or Green. However, you were able to register up to five DOKs to one email address and could easily get a DOK on each of the three teams to increase your chance of being on the winning team.[1]

When first playing the game, the player chooses one of three body types and one of three basic weapon types. The larger DOKs are easier to control and can take more damage, but lighter DOKs give you a score bonus. The objective of the game was to collect items, destroy enemies and solve puzzles to help The Absolution and save Toonami. The items the player collected each day stayed in their inventory throughout the event, as long as the player used the same DOK each day. If the player created a new DOK the score and inventory would not carry over. Players could play the game as much as they wanted, but scores only counted between the hours of 5 p.m.-4 a.m. (ET). Also, only the player's highest individual point total at the end of that day was added to their team's score.[1]

Plot[]

After answering a distress call, the Absolution is trapped in the tractor beam of a giant trash compactor. The DOKs have been assembled but are unable to be controlled by TOM or Sara. Luckily, TOM thought of a way to have transmissions from Earth remotely control the DOKs, leaving it to the viewers to take control of a DOK and save the Absolution.

Level 1: Information Processing[]

Objective 1: Locate blue print schematics for the enemy ship, located in one of the computers in the area, and transmit them to SARA using the enemy ship's main computer. Objective 2: Locate the elevator shaft that will take you to the enemy ship's tractor beam power grid.

Level 2: Ventilator Shafts[]

Objective 1: Find the controls for the door that is blocking your path, in the red tubes, and open it. Objective 2: Repair the drainage system in order to drain the radioactive liquid from the reservoir that blocks your path.

Level 3: Processing Plant[]

Objective 1: Find and turn off the fuel-line controls for the incinerator and proceed through the incinerator. Objective 2: Locate the labor droid and retrieve the remote-control device needed to make it out of the processing plant.

Level 4: Robot Assembly and Deployment[]

Objective 1: Locate the Information Elimination Lab and save the 3 DOKs that are about to have their memories erased and restore the important data they once held. Objective 2: Find a way to short circuit the giant mutated destroyer robots (defeated DOKs) before they are deployed. Objective 3: Defeat the Guardian and shut down the tractor beam power grid.

Upon nearing an area with strange DOK-like creatures, you will receive this message from SARA:
"Be careful! I have discovered that the enemy ship has been rebuilding the defeated DOKs into giant, mutated destroyer-robots! These robots are very powerful, and there are at least 10 of them nearby! You must find a way to short circuit them before they are deployed!"

These warnings can be found in other areas of Level 4:
"Warning! This area is infected with hay-wire eliminator robots! They will attack all units, friendly or otherwise, without any provocation!"
"The Centurion robots were found to be defective 72,033,122.23 hours ago. They were all shut down permanently to prevent any further 'accidents'. It does appear, though, that the Eliminator robots bear similar errors in their programming, stemming from a rare, cosmic computer virus designated as 22B-VRE.9. They, too, may have to be shut down permanently before any more accidents occur."

Additionally, you can acquire a special info-disk with secret information from ID-AA1-1 in the first map of Level 4. If you bring it to a com-tower with a self-contained transmitter and send the information to SARA, she will respond with a message saying:
"Good work! This is very important information! Due to a very serious computer virus that infected its central processor tens of thousands of years ago, this ship has become a giant eating machine, devouring and then re-processing anything in its path! When I find out more, I will let you know! One more thing: that secret info-disk also contained the data required to create a silver security pass-card. I have remotely sent the info to the pass-card creator. Go find it!"

However, the next time you see ID-AA1-1, he will say:
"Congratulations [DOK name]. I am very impressed at how far you have come, but now your quest has come to an end. I have been following your progress throughout this entire sector. When you transmitted that secret information I gave you to your mother-ship, I was able to download schematics and security codes for the Absolution. After we are done destroying you, I will deploy thousands of these Dok-Destroyers who will descend upon your precious ship, and tear it to pieces! It's been nice working with you, but now your time is up! ATTACK!"
