Sean Akins is a former creative director for Cartoon Network and Williams Street, and co-creator/executive producer of Toonami, Miguzi and SVES. He also had a hand in programming the Adult Swim block.

CareerEdit

Akins got his start at Turner Broadcasting in 1989 working in the mail room. From there, he did internships in sports, Headline News, TNT and TBS. He then got a job at TNT as a production assistant and worked his way up through the ranks. [1] In 1997, Mike Lazzo, offered him a job at Cartoon Network to create an action animation block, which eventually became Toonami.[2]

Since 2011, Sean has owned and operated his own production company in New York. Sean Akins Productions provides creative direction, writing, producing, editorial and photography services. [3] [4]
