Toonami (Japanese block) also known as Toonami Japan, was a programming block that aired on Cartoon Network in Japan from July 22, 2002 to 2008. Toonami code:Q[]
Toonami code:Q was a special giveaway meant to celebrate the Toonami programming block's launch in Japan. From July 22, 2002 to August 9, 2002, quizzes were given during commercial breaks of the Toonami block. Correct answers could be submitted via postcard or website. Each day also had a unique "code number" which was given during the Toonami broadcast and had to be included in that day's submission. There were 10 questions in total each day and the prizes that viewers could apply for changed depending on the number of correct answers. For example, a t-shirt required 3 correct answers so you had to answer at least 3 questions correctly.[1] The prizes available included Toonami merchandise such as:
- Justice League figures - 1 total
- Superman figure - 10 total
- Toonami T-shirt - 50 total
- Justice League notebook - 100 total
Toonami Dojo Break[]
Dojo Break was a special giveaway meant to celebrate the launch of THE BIG O season 2, which began airing on Toonami in Japan on Friday, July 25, 2003. Dojo Break consisted of 10-question quizzes given during commercial breaks of the Toonami block. Three quizzes were given each day, each with different difficulty settings: TOONAMI MASTER (advanced), TOONAMI SENSEI (intermediate), and TOONAMI NEWBIE (beginner). To submit for a specific quiz, a "quiz code" given during the on-air quiz was required. Correct answers could be submitted via the Toonami website. All winners received a "TOONAMI certificate" as proof that they managed to overcome difficult problems. However, only 111 people were selected by lottery from those who answered correctly in the quiz and received additional prizes. The prizes awarded varied depending on the level/type of quiz taken.[19]
